A 26 year old felon is accused of cutting and robbing a man outside of the Stapleton Houses.
John Pena, 26, of Gordon Street in the Stapleton Houses, was arrested on Wednesday for the incident that occurred Nov. at the corner of Broad and Gordon streets, according to the criminal complaint and police.
Pena allegedly stole cash and used a sharp object to cut the face of the victim, who suffered lacerations that required stitches, according to the criminal complaint.
The victim, a 20 year old man, was slashed on both his left and right side of his face; he declined to cooperate with police, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation.
Pena has a prior conviction on June 19, 2013, on a charge of attempted assault that resulted in a prison sentence of two to four years in jail, according to the criminal complaint.
For the incident in November, Pena has been charged with robbery, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property, the criminal complaint said.
