cheap the north face uk bright biz forecast for North Central Mass
FITCHBURG Weather forecasts for North Central Massachusetts can be unpredictable, but businesses and consumers are confident about the region’s economic forecast.
Local economic experts will present at the fifth annual Economic Forecast Breakfast, hosted by the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce and Fidelity Bank, on Friday morning.
Based on the results from the survey at the event last year, concerns over job creation, the cost of living, tax increases, international competition,
growth of government and cost of education still exist.
However, Derek Beahn of Fidelity Bank said the 200 businesses and 200 consumers surveyed this year are generally optimistic about the growth and direction of the economy.
More than half of businesses polled, and 74 percent of consumers, said they believe the economy will improve over the next year.
Businesses have a less favorable view than last year, but more consumers have a positive outlook this year as compared to last year.
Panelists will include Jeff Fuhrer, executive vice president and senior policy advisor at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston; Mike O’Brien of Winn Properties; and Daniel Asquino,
president of Mount Wachusett Community College.
Each speaker will present on how he perceives the current economy and where it will be going in the coming years.
